Find Chains by Manufacturer, Pitch, Gauge and Cutter Type.

  • Cutter types

Full chisel is fastest and prefers clean cutting conditions. Micro, Chamfer and Semi hold there edge longer than Full chisel and tolerate more contaminants in the wood but cut 10-15% slower. Chipper is slowest cutting suited to dirty wood or mechanical processing it's only available in .404 and 3/4 pitch.

  • Gauge and Pitch

Gauge is marked on the guide bar or often stamped on the chain in code format.

Pitch is very important when selecting a chain. TIP! Bar nose sprocket, motor sprocket and chain pitch must be identical or breakage will occur.

  • Chain Sequence

Skip-Tooth Chain has an extra drive link between the cutters compared to standard sequence chain. Ideal for use on longer bars over 24" to aid chip clearance and maintain engine RPM.

  • Chain Length

Chains are measured in Drive Links. Tip! Count the drive links on an existing chain before ordering. Often specifications are stamped on the guide bar under side cover plate.
